Mission
The main purpose of the job is to contribute to the IMa Technical department mission which is to deliver profitable growth in all IMa entities through maturity in pricing, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring, with a focus on:
- PMP (Portfolio Management Process) implementation for portfolio profitability and growth
- Ensuring successful transfer of processes, tools, methodologies in IMa aligned with Standards and guidelines
- Raise the pricing expertise of the actuarial teams in the entities of IMa
As a Senior professional of the Actuarial & Pricing Department the employee will support entities in IMa to achieve their growth and profitability targets by ensuring adequacy of local techniques, tools and teams to meet targets.
The job holder will have to interact with local experts and occasionally heads of Commercial Lines, Actuarial, Marketing, Distribution, etc. either at IMa or local level. Regarding the AXA European Markets and AXA Group, will interact with different experts and collaborate in specific projects transversally.
Main Responsabilities
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE:
- Project Management of main P&C projects and activities assigned to Commercial Lines team.
- Participate if needed in depth review of Commercial Lines portfolios together with the entire IMa P&C team, other experts at Group level if necessary, and recommend follow-up action plan
- Portfolio Management Process: Monitor Commercial Lines figures and highlight possible deviations and support entities in implementation of adjustments measures decided. Support entities to take decisions based on the analysis.
Governance & Monitoring
- Help to ensure adequacy of pricing tools and methods and implement adequate monitoring and follow-up reporting.
- Monitor and manage P&C Commercial figures focusing on specific entities.
- Analyse main Kpis and technical ratios for specific entities and set them into relation with underwriting and distribution figures.
Underwriting
- Manage referrals of policies that exceed local entities authority, as well as partnership schemes that need to have second opinion and validation at IMa or the Group. Always under the delegation of the Head of Commercial lines.
- Define, adjust and ensure compliance of AXA Underwriting Guidelines and Standards in the local entities.
Actuarial Responsibilities
PRICING EXCELLENCE:
- Diagnosing and resolving problem through application appropriate actuarial techniques in pricing
- Manage and participate in IMa P&C pricing projects, including the animation of the IMa community
- Develop specific actuarial skills (Pricing, CMA, Elasticity of the demand, optimization, portfolio management …) to be sure that the entities achieve the pricing maturity expected.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- Participate in regular actuarial training activities such as seminars, workshops in order to enhance pricing capabilities within IMa.
- Disseminate the know-how in the different actuarial topics through IMa entities.
- Develop innovation and R&D
Profile
Background:
- Educated to University degree level (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related areas)
- Experience 8+ years in actuarial works (pricing, reserving, statistics modelling) for Commercial Lines.
- Excellent English skills, other languages as French/Spanish would be a plus
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of operative processes in the insurance industry
- Knowledge of GLM and GBM modelling techniques
- Knowledge in “insurance economics” (P&L)
- Good knowledge on the use of WTW Emblem software (Radar, Optimiser and/or Classifier will be a plus), SAS, Excel software. AKUR8, R, Visual Basic or SQL will be a plus.
- Knowledge in Data Science and Artificial intelligence will be appreciated
