We are looking for a team player, dynamic and proactive professional to join our Energy coverage team as a Vice President, based in Madrid.
In this role, you will be responsible for the Coverage of Global Clients within the Energy Sector in Spain, combining strong client coverage capabilities with deep industry insight and product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a defined portfolio of global Energy clients with a focus on revenue growth, strategic engagement and long-term value creation.
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior executives across client organisations.
- Lead the development and execution of tailored business and coverage strategies for assigned clients in the Energy industry.
- Identify and originate new business opportunities, driving profitable growth while expanding BBVA’s footprint in the Energy market.
- Lead and coordinate cross-border client engagements, ensuring seamless execution across geographies by aligning coverage, product, risk and execution teams to deliver integrated global solutions.
- Partner with product, risk, and execution teams to ensure disciplined, timely, and high-quality delivery of client solutions.
- Maintain a robust pipeline, managing opportunity progression, forecasting, and revenue tracking to achieve targets.
- Monitor global Energy market trends, regulation, and transition dynamics to inform strategic client dialogue and anticipate future needs.
What are we looking for?
- 5–10 years of experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, with significant client coverage and business development experience.
- Strong understanding of CIB products and their application to complex client needs.
- Proven track record in leading strategic client engagements.
- Excellent analytical, commercial, and risk assessment capabilities.
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and with the Spanish Energy team.
- Experience or strong interest in sustainability and energy transition is highly valued.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Slides, Sheets, Docs).
This position will require the candidate to have a valid Mifid certification. In case the candidate is not certified, they will have to obtain the pertaining certification upon the incorporation to the role.
