Global Risk Management (GRM) is dedicated to contributing to the Group’s responsible growth and recurring value creation by implementing a holistic and forward-looking approach to manage all financial risks. You will join the Risk Strategy & CRO Office team, which has two primary objectives:
- Defining and implementing the GRM Strategic Plan, adapting it to market dynamics, regulatory shifts and internal priorities
- Supporting the Group CRO by providing strategic insights and facilitating decision-making in key forums, committees and supervisory engagements while adopting the use of AI
Sobre el puesto
You will work in a highly dynamic and visible function, collaborating across multiple teams within GRM and across the BBVA Group. The role requires a high degree of ownership and seniority to manage shifting priorities during key reporting cycles and regulatory engagements. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the CRO Office: prepare executive-level analyses, reports and presentations for the Group CRO’s participation in key forums, including risk committees, supervisory meetings and strategic discussions
- Shaping GRM strategy: contribute to the definition and evolution of the GRM Strategic Plan, ensuring it aligns with BBVA’s corporate strategy, regulatory developments and industry trends
- Driving cross-functional collaboration: Coordinating with teams across GRM and BBVA’s broader organization to foster alignment and innovation in risk management
Who We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in risk management, corporate strategy or financial transformation within a top-tier financial institution or global organization
- Strong track record in working in multi-disciplinary teams and high-level strategic initiatives
- Experience in risk frameworks, regulatory developments and digital transformation is highly valued
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strategic mindset: Ability to define, structure and execute risk strategies with a long-term vision
- Analytical excellence: Strong data-driven approach, translating complex information into actionable insights
- Project management: Ability to manage complex projects, competing deadlines and cross-functional collaboration
- Communication & stakeholder engagement: strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to engage with senior leaders
- Fluency in English (C1 level) and Spanish is required
- Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Chat GPT, Gemini, Claude…) with the ability to translate them into initiatives that enhance risk management, decision-making, and operational efficiency
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs and Slides) or equivalent tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint): ability to create impactful presentations, analytical reports and strategic documents for senior leadership and regulatory bodies
- Teamwork & innovation: Ability to coordinate and communicate across multinational teams, working proactively and autonomously while embracing flexibility and innovation
