
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer (molds).
What You’ll Do
Authority.
Has the authority to request tooling maintenance actions, initiate replacement evaluations, and drive supplier corrective actions for tooling issues.
Job Summary
The Tooling Engineer is responsible for managing and controlling Eaton‑owned tooling located at external supplier sites. This role ensures tooling inventory accuracy, oversees preventive maintenance execution, identifies tooling replacement needs in advance, and leads capital project requests for new or replacement tooling. The position supports production continuity, supplier performance, and long‑term asset reliability.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate and up‑to‑date inventory of all Eaton‑owned tooling located at supplier facilities.
- Ensure all supplier tooling is properly tagged, documented, and tracked through Eaton’s asset management systems.
- Monitor preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and verify timely completion of required tooling maintenance activities.
- Review supplier maintenance records and ensure compliance with Eaton standards and program expectations.
- Identify tooling wear, performance issues, or end‑of‑life risks and communicate required actions proactively.
- Lead capital expenditure (CAPEX) requests for replacement tooling, including justification, documentation, and project tracking.
- Support capital project execution for new tooling required due to increased demand or new programs.
- Collaborate with suppliers, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Finance to ensure tooling readiness and replacement planning.
- Participate in supplier reviews and onsite audits related to tooling condition and maintenance performance.
- Ensure compliance with Eaton standards, safety requirements, and asset control policies.
- Provide technical support for tooling design changes, improvements, or troubleshooting when requested.
Qualifications
Education level required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
Years And Area Of Experience Required
- 5 to 7 in similar position
Technical knowledge
- Understanding of production tooling (e.g., dies, molds, fixtures, stamping tools). must
- Conversational english is a must
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and asset management practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with CAPEX processes and basic project management principles.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes used by suppliers.
- Proficiency with Excel and ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
