
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Operations Manager.
What You’ll Do
Primary Function:
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all manufacturing operations within a fabrication plant to achieve excellence in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership to drive a continuous improvement culture, ensure robust EHS compliance, and embed a zero-defect quality mindset across all levels of the organization.
The role partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and EHS functions to deliver operational results aligned with business objectives while developing high-performing teams.
Essential Functions
- Serve as a visible and active EHS leader, fostering a zero-accidents culture.
- Own and deliver site KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost Productivity and Inventory (SQDCI).
- Ensure optimal capacity utilization, labor efficiency, and equipment uptime.
- Lead daily management routines, tiered accountability meetings, and performance reviews
- Embed a quality-first mindset throughout operations.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing operations leadership team.
- Foster accountability, engagement, and a positive shop-floor culture.
- Ensure effective training, skill development, and succession planning
- Execute established goals for sales growth, market share, profit contribution and return on investment to achieve results stated in approved plan.
- Take active corrective on programs which significantly effect short and long-range objectives, policies and plans.
- Ensure that the quality procedures are adhered to, and quality objectives are maintained to meet the established standards of the finished products, maintaining policies, procedures and standards in accordance with current certification requirements.
- Eliminate interferences in work processes, as well as technical, organizational but also quality concerning matters.
- Monitor the production facilities and equipment.
- Design and implement economical manufacturing processes, especially by generation, and introducing suggestions.
- Control of overhead costs, initiating and implementation of measurements to improve those.
- Design of long-term strategies to optimize production concerning reduction of cycle times, inventory and delivery times.
- Coordinate optimal cooperation of production planning department with R&D, Production, Controlling and Quality.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proven track record leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices in manufacturing.
- Experience working within formal quality systems (ISO/IATF or equivalent).
Preferred
- Experience in Rubber Molding, painting and electrical test processes.
- MBA with concentration on Finance or Supply Chain
- Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt), or Operational Excellence certification.
- Experience managing multi-shift or high-mix/low-volume fabrication operations.
- Prior responsibility for large teams and complex manufacturing processes.
