
Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer.
Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
What You’ll Do
Primary Function:
Support the Quality Manager responsible for delivering all aspects of the Supplier Quality Assurance function. Work in a team environment with suppliers to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements. Collect root cause analysis and provide corrective feedback to prevent line stops due to supply issues. Manage the customer specific requirements and offer technical support to suppliers.
Essential Functions
1 Carry out supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP) with the support of the Supplier Development Engineer.
2 Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
3 Lead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities
4 Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards
5 Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues
6 Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues, when required by the Quality Manager.
7 Collate and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain
8 Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
9 Provide concise, complete, and accurate documentation of inspection results relative to area of responsibility. In appropriate functional areas, this refers to supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval or product warrant submission
10 Management of corrective actions for suppliers using the WISPER platform. Have communication with suppliers when issues with quality arise in the Tijuana's plant to follow up containment and corrective actions accordingly.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Industrial, Mechatronic, Electro mechaninc or related)
- 4-7 years of experience as Quality Engineer or Quality Supervisor. Strong mechanical, statistical and drawings/requirements background in working with automotive or aerospace products and knowledge of the Quality Management System as well.
- Core Tools, APQP, SPC, PPAP, PFMEA/CP, IATF 16949/ISO 9001, Statistical/Minitab, Six Sigma, Drawing Interpretation, 8D management, Engineering Changes & Validation management, Finance knowledge, GD&T, IPC requirements, Engineering background.
