Eaton AER ITD division is currently seeking a EHS Manager for the Tijuana ITD facility. The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is to provide Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability leadership for the Tijuana ITD facility, including the facilities maintenance. This requires a proactive approach to development and maintenance of processes to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws as well as Eaton’s EHS Management System (MESH), including ISO 14001 requirements. This position will be responsible for identifying and leading EHS activities, assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics, managing interfaces with governmental authorities and external parties, and providing technical and tactical support to plant leadership to ensure the plant is operated in a safe, healthy, secure, and environmentally sustainable manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Limit yourself to 8-12 statements)
- List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.
- Champion and lead projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our “Zero Incident Safety Culture” programs.
- Facilitate risk assessments to identify critical EHS hazards and work with our leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks. Coordinate plant security and loss control efforts.
- Partner with other functional support/engineering teams to ensure plant projects, changes, upgrades, and modifications adhere to and meet "Change Management” processes.
- Assist our Operational Excellence Team with environmental, health, safety, security or sustainability capital projects.
- Maintain state and federal level regulatory compliance for the facility (STPS, SMADS, SEMARNAT, ETC.).
- Review plant environmental permits and ensures terms and conditions are understood and complied with, ensures required documentation is maintained and required regulatory reports are submitted to the respective agency.
- Champion MESH program and assessment process and work with plant leadership team to drive MESH Champions engagement.
- Develop/maintain all required written MESH, regulatory and training requirements, e.g., HazCom, BBP, Hearing Conservation, LOTO, Confined Space, Fall Protection, PPE Assessments etc.
- Improve Employee Engagement by actively partnering with all plant personnel on safety programs.
- Compile required safety performance metric data for the OSHA/STPS specific injury/illness log and management of the worker’s compensation program.
- Pursue third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class.
- Drive environmental footprint reduction activities in Water, Waste, and Energy consumption
- Management, maintenance, repair, and safety of the facilities
- Planning, coordination, and strategy development for ensuring the long-term improvement of the facilities
- Managing people, vendors, suppliers, and guests in the facilities
- Attending meetings and sharing constructive input
- Following safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations related to facilities and workforce
- Managing insurance and contracts
- Facilities strategy implementation, reporting, and tweaking
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of Environmental Health and Safety experience
- Three (3) years of experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Level of English fluency: Advance (Reading and writing that allow fluid Presentations)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline from an accredited institution
- Environmental Health and Safety certification preferred such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc
- Experience with regulatory compliance concerning environmental, health, safety or security matters.
- Experience with providing development and support to direct reports.
- Experience driving/leading culture change in an EHS environment.
