Role Purpose
Define and execute the Mexico Companion Animals BU strategy, translating market opportunities into a clear commercial, marketing and technical agenda, competitive priorities and measurable growth plans.
Lead the BU with a strong enterprise mindset, connecting marketing, sales, technical, supply, finance and support functions to win as one team.
Strengthen customer relevance by building tailored solutions for veterinary practices, key accounts, distributors and strategic partners in the Mexican market.
Key Responsibilities
Mexico market strategy and growth
Own the Companion Animals BU strategy and P&L for Mexico, including portfolio priorities, execution roadmap, resource allocation, growth ambition and sustainable financial performance.
Identify market opportunities, competitive dynamics, customer needs and key segments to protect and expand market share.
Ensure robust business planning, forecasting/demand planning, P&L management and performance management across the BU, applying structured thinking to convert complex market dynamics into clear priorities, decisions and execution plans.
Commercial leadership and execution
Drive commercial excellence across sales, marketing and brand building, ensuring sales force effectiveness and disciplined execution of brand plans, customer segmentation and channel strategies.
Lead initiatives that increase customer engagement, improve demand generation and strengthen conversion in the field, including launch excellence for new products and strategic campaigns.
Partner with key accounts, distributors, veterinary groups and relevant stakeholders to build long-term, value-creating relationships, applying a key account mindset to prioritize opportunities and unlock mutual growth.
Portfolio and customer impact
Accelerate growth of strategic companion animal portfolios, including vaccines, pharmaceuticals and priority therapeutic areas aligned with Mexico needs.
Translate technical and scientific value into compelling customer propositions that support veterinarians and improve the lives of pets and their people.
Ensure high standards of customer service, experience and satisfaction across the BU.
People leadership and collaboration
Demonstrate strong People Leadership by building, coaching and developing a high-performing team with a culture of empowerment, accountability, inclusion and continuous learning.
Promote cross-functional collaboration with commercial, technical, regulatory, supply chain, finance, HR and regional stakeholders.
Set clear goals, review performance, provide feedback and create development opportunities for team members, reinforcing self-organization, ownership and discipline in execution.
Governance, compliance and business discipline
Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, industry regulations and ethical standards.
Manage BU budgets, investments and P&L with discipline, linking spend to strategic priorities, launch priorities, demand planning assumptions and expected short- and long-term financial outcomes.
Monitor business risks, operational effectiveness and market trends, adjusting plans as needed with self-organization, disciplined follow-through and a strong operating cadence to deliver sustainable financial results.
Qualifications
Required
- Degree in Veterinary Science, Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
- Strong experience in the Mexican animal health, companion animals, veterinary, pharmaceutical or consumer health market.
- Experience leading Companion Animals portfolios, such as vaccines, antiparasitics, pharmaceuticals or therapeutic solutions.
- Proven record leading business operations, commercial teams and growth agendas with P&L ownership and accountability for sales, profitability and sustainable financial results.
- Strong understanding of sales force effectiveness, including segmentation, targeting, field execution, productivity and performance management.
- Experience driving launch excellence, from launch strategy and cross-functional readiness to disciplined in-market execution and post-launch tracking.
- Experience managing strategic customers, distributors, key accounts or veterinary networks in Mexico, with a strong key account mindset and ability to build value-creating customer plans.
- Strong strategic thinking, market analysis, demand planning and execution discipline.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, compliance standards and customer dynamics in Mexico.
Preferred
- Advanced degree or postgraduate studies in business, marketing, veterinary science or related field.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Experience in regional or multinational matrix environments.
